The 2001 White team had an excellent
spring capping the season off with a AAA Championship at the
Niagara Falls Classic tournament. Great way to finish the season
off boys. Coach Bryan did an excellent job with this first year
group.

2003 West in the News with
Collingwood Victory
The 2003 West team had an outstanding
weekend of hockey and fun in Collingwood. Going undefeated
throughout the tournament the team had quite a challenge in the
finals and with the score tied at 1-1 faced a penalty shot with
just under 2 minutes to go and the save was made to send the game
into an extra period. The team then secured a thrilling 2-1
overtime victory as the final seconds ticked down to secure the
Championship title. This is their second straight championship
game as they were finalists in their last tourney. Keep up the
hard work and great effort.

2002 Spring Showdown
Champs
So far this year under the leadership
of new coach Dalt McDole the team has shown themselves to be a
competitive group that will only continue to get stronger. In
their first tournament they had several impressive wins and came
up short in the semis against a good Eastern team 3-2. The team
was a perfect 5 and 0 to secure this tournament victory in weekend
two.

Another great weekend for the 2001 West team who continue to
display what all spring hockey teams should be, a close knit group
off the ice and competitive on the ice. The team has a very
impressive 11 and 5 record heading into their final tournament and
have given it their all this spring and have been great ambassadors.
Well done coaches, parents and players as we have had many positive
comments on this group! This is their finalist picture from the
Hockey Hilites tournament |

The Perfect Spring?
99 Girls remain unbeaten.
In their inaugural
season together the 99 girls have won both the Girls Pre-Season
Spectacular and Cougar Classic tournaments and are a perfect 11
and 0 in doing so. This very talented group of girls will look to
extend their streak at the Pony Tail Challenge. Have we just
jinxed them or is 17 and 0 on the horizon. Good luck girls you
have been outstanding.

97 Gold end Great
Spring with Tournament Title
The 97 Gold finished a fantastic
spring by capturing the Pro Spring Shootout Tournament
Championship. The team challenged in every tournament they were
in. They dominated the Nike tournament going 5 and 0 heading into
the finals before losing a heartbreaker to Pro Prospects (a team
they had beaten earlier in the tournament and outshot by 23 in the
final). They then attended Prospects where they made an impressive
run to Sunday only to lose in a shootout to STP in a great game.
The team would avenge that loss by defeating STP in the Pro
Tournament along with a number of high end quality teams.
Fantastic group of young men who garnered alot of attention this
spring. Great job by their new coaching staff of Frank Sneath,
Dylan Sneath and Bryan Warner and trainer Mario Fazio. Time to hit
the gym and enjoy the summer!

The Regional Gold faced off against
the Regional West in the final of the Spring Showdown and what a
way to wrap up the tournament. In an outstanding hockey game both
teams had opportunities to win both in regulation and
overtime but it took a shootout to decide the outcome with the
Gold securing the victory. Great hockey and sportsmanship
demonstrated by both teams. Championship picture featuring both
teams.

ATTACK WIN OHL
CHAMPIONSHIP
Congratulations to the Owen Sound Attack on their thrilling Game
7 overtime victory over the St Mike Majors to clinch the OHL
Championship. The overtime goal was scored by Jared Maidens who
helped the Regional 94 Gold team to a 4 straight Championships
titles in the spring season in 2003 at the age of 9 (he is the
shirtless player 4th from the right in the picture 2 down).
Pictured to the right enjoying some time with the OHL trophy is
Andrew Fritsch, Andrew stared with the 93 Regional Gold team
starting at age 7 and competed as a member for 8 straight years
prior to heading off to the OHL. Other members of the Attack who
participated in the Regional program are Colorado Avalanche draft
pick 91 Joey Hishon, 92 Brendan Childerly and New York Rangers draft
pick, goalie Scott Stajcer. Congrats to these players and all the
others on the Attack on this great accomplishment.

END OF AN ERA - 96 GOLD
What a birth year! This group
dominated spring hockey for almost 6 years at their age group and
we will no doubt be watching many of them at the next level in
years to come. Winners of 4 straight Prospects Championships and
multiple other Championships over the years this group was a treat
to watch. Most recently the team won the Nike Bauer Championship
in April going 5 and 0 and again made it through to Sunday at
Prospects but unfortunately dropped a 2-1 decision to Skillz after
leading 1-0 the whole game until our opponent scored twice in the
final 2 minutes to secure the victory. We have received many great
emails from parents and players who have participated with this
team and you are correct, great hockey and many great memories
that we will all share forever. Great job 96 Gold!

Girls Program Off and
Skating
The 98 Girls kicked off the program by
participating in the 97 division of the Spring Showdown and wow
did they ever impress. Going to the finals on the strength of a
1-0 semi final win over Pro Hockey 97's they lost a very
entertaining game 2-0 to a powerhouse 97 Hurricane team from the
East. This team features a ton of talent and are great ambassadors
for girls hockey and our program.

The

the program birth year and it looks like the future is in very

tournament Champions at the Southwest Tournament in St Marys.
They completed the tournament with a perfect 5 and 0 record with
victories over Southwest Jets 3-2, Maitland Ice Sharks 9-5, Pro
